Close to 5 stars food, but I'll admit the expectations were sky high. Beet salad was PERFECT, just the right amount of dressing, amazing beets and chevre. Fabulous sashimi. Lobster risotto was a parmesan creamy delight largely devoid of lobster. Scallops were of exceptional quality, but just missed...ever so slightly over seared which tipped the balance to a slightly darker flavor. Dessert options were limited and our table passed. Most of our cocktails were good, but the pisco sour was not. Excellent service.

The food at Redd was spectacular — truly excellent — but the service was on another level. We had a few issues on our end, nothing to do with the restaurant, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. Jeff, who I believe may be the manager, was incredibly supportive throughout the night. He stepped in with calm, thoughtful solutions and made sure our own mishaps didn’t affect the evening. That kind of leadership sets the tone for the whole experience. Our server, Hanna, deserves an award. She rolled with every curveball, offered smart guidance on the menu, and handled all the accommodations with ease. Her attentiveness was perfect — present without being pushy — and she had that rare ability to make the table feel taken care of in every way. Simply everything you want in a server. The food was amazing, but the service was so exceptional that it actually outshined it. That says everything. Highly recommend.

Redd absolutely delivered from start to finish. We chose to sit outside, and the atmosphere alone felt transportive — lush and intimate without trying too hard. The kind of setting that makes a friday lunch feel like you're exactly where you’re supposed to be. The meal itself was thoughtful in all the ways great restaurants should be. The tuna tartare was pristine and balanced — fresh, bright, and layered with just enough texture to keep every bite interesting. The chopped salad was crisp, deeply flavorful, and somehow elevated beyond what a chopped salad has any business being. The asparagus risotto was silky and perfectly executed, rich without becoming heavy, letting the asparagus actually shine instead of getting lost in the creaminess. And the lychee margarita? One of those cocktails you keep thinking about after you leave — nuanced, refreshing, and not overly sweet like lychee drinks can sometimes lean. Frank took exceptional care of us and struck that rare balance of being attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm without ever feeling performative. Incredible dining experience, quite a surprise for a tucked away restaurant in Rochester! We had the tuna tartare and pork belly as starters and they were absolutely amazing, especially the pork belly that was to die for. Scallops and halibut were also incredible, great flavors that revealed themselves in layers. Nice selection of drinks and great desserts and coffee to wrap up your meal. A great spot for a sophisticated dining experience!

Fresh. Flavourful. Layered. And decadent at times. Near perfection. Not only was the flavor amazing, but the execution was flawless. Hiramasa perfectly cured. Scallops expertly seared. Sprice. Acid. Fat. The dishes took great care to be well balanced and delightful. I don't know where to start. From the moment I walked in it was amazing. The hostess Larissa was inviting and quick to answer my joke about an extra person with a quip and an assurance that we would be taken care of. Our server was amazing as well, dealing with my incessant questions and request to serve my multiple appetizers in courses because I wanted to try a few things. Runners kept plates cleared, water glasses full and drinks topped off. That was just the service. The food might have been better. This meal is up there on my all time list and very accessible for a nice night out/celebration. Highly recommend.
